Who remembers when Casey Calvert from Hawthorne Heights died?
I was a *very* big HH fan back in the day, embarrassingly so. Like too much so.... But like idgaf, i'm not trying to start fights, maybe I am - FOB falls short and HH still slaps. Come for me. 🤷🏽♀️
Fall Out Boy slander is not the point, the point is:
I vividly remember them saying that fool died from some sort of asphyxia, but like he had sleep apnea or some sort of allergy, like a chronic condition. I remember the statement from the band and an interview with his girlfriend or widow saying he died in his sleep from some sort of breathing condition.
Ima take it a step further- I even wanna be like the wifey said he had some sort of medication that he couldn't access in time and he passed. What do you remember?
Like I still remember the lyrics to all their songs and I ain't listened to them in 15 years and I vividly remember this. (and crying to silence in black and white rip casey)
I bring it up because at the time I was like obviously this is a drug overdose and upon googling, it actually was.
I guess the deeper question is like WHAT IS UP with Victory Records and what was going on there? Like what an unnecessary cover-up and unpacking memories from the random myspace conversations I had with bands that got signed to Victory 💪🏽 in retrospect I'm like wait wut.👀
I'm just saying if emo's coming back we gotta revisit some stuff.
