I have no clue who this is, please do elaborate :] !!! he was a folk musician and activist in the 60s/early 70s, mainly writing protest music (though he called it topical music), and he was specifically focused on the vietnam war, with most of his most famous songs being about that, but he also wrote about a lot of other things. he's one of my favourite musicians/inspirations for my music and sort of a hero of mine! theres a lot to say about him but I am tired. unfortunately, most of his songs are still painfully relevant today :/
he wrote hundreds of songs despite the fact that his life was unfortunately really short (he died at the age of 35), so there are a lot to choose from if you want to get into his music. I don't think there is ever one place to start with any artist, the best place depends on the person, but his first album, all the news that's fit to sing seems like it would be a decent thing to listen to first, or possibly his second album, I ain't marching anymore, which has some of his most popular songs in it.
my favourite album personally are either pleasures of the harbour or rehearsals for retirement. they are very interesting albums, if you want I could talk more about those or other interesting things about him. he was sort of a weird guy. he ate a contact lens one time.
